Practice 2: Parent Reads the Words, Takes Puzzle Pieces Out and Explains the Images

Step 1: Before playing, all the puzzle pieces are placed in the corresponding cutouts on a GeniusKIDDY board.

Step 2: The parent points at the word on each puzzle piece, reads it aloud while the child repeats it, then the parent takes the puzzle pieces out of the board, shows the child the image on the cutout and explains the image to the child using a short sentence, for example, "The bird is yellow."

Continue until all the puzzle pieces have been taken out of the board.

Step 3: Praise and applaud.

Step 4: The parent picks a puzzle piece up, reads the word on it aloud while the child repeats it, then explains the image using the same sentence as above (The bird is yellow). After that, together with your child, the parent puts the puzzle piece onto the corresponding cutout on the board.

Continue until all the puzzle pieces have been placed onto the board.

Step 5: Praise and applaud.

Note:

The explanation of the images may vary. You can think of your own way to explain as long as you use the word on the puzzle piece; This will help your child to understand the meaning of the word and remember it more easily.
